The Circle of Wise Women - Community Baby Shower

Saturday July18, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

I am asking that whosoever receives this flyer to please help out and pass it on to African American parents and staff. The Circle of Wise Women is  a group that was created at the Kane County Health Department in 2006 to bring awareness to the very high rate of infant mortality in our county. Infant mortality refers to an infant dying before their first birthday.

To give a better understanding, the rate of infant mortality for all babies in Kane County is 4.4 per 1,000 live births. For African American women, the rate is doubled.

I would appreciate if everyone could share this flyer, regarding the upcoming community baby shower, to all African Americans you know in the Aurora area. Centers or organizations that have Facebook- can you please attach on your Facebook page?

Thank you for supporting the Kane County Health Department Circle of Wise Women; one of AOK’s 7 initiatives.
