FEBRUARY 11, 2016 The Connectional Lay Organization Online   Bishop William P. DeVeaux, Sr. Lay Commission Chairman   Dr. Willie C. Glover Global President - Connectional Lay Organization   Mr. Walter C. Jeffers Director of Public Relations           The Disaster Relief Committee voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Global President of the Connectional Lay Organization, Dr. Willie C. Glover to donate $5000 to the Flint, Michigan water crisis project.  The committee voted to support the filter project since the city seems to be overwhelmed with donated bottled water.  Dr. Glover was informed that the filters currently being used have limited effectiveness. The Executive Board of the CLO had previously authorized the President to expend up to this amount without Board approval.  Fourth District Lay President, Madge White is coordinating the Lay project.  Brother Keith Britton (7th) is the chair of Disaster Relief Committee. Dr. Glover's Local Church, St. Mark AME in Columbus, OH also contributed to the filter project.  He is asking that the Lay Organization on all levels contribute to this travesty of inhumanity in Flint.
