TCR Breaking News: POST OFFICE MAKES MISTAKE; RICHARD ALLEN STAMP WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30

AME Members,

The United States Postal Service informed us that the June 30 date given to us for withdrawing the Richard Allen Stamp was a mistake.  The stamp will be withdrawn on SEPTEMBER 30.  After that date, all unsold Richard Allen Stamps and collectible items at retail outlets will be sent back to the USPS Storage facility in Kansas City, Missouri for disposal.  Special issue stamps like the Richard Allen Stamp are sold for 12-18 months and then removed to make way for newer issues.

We are currently in talks with the USPS to organize additional purchase opportunities for the AME Church before SEPTEMBER 30.  The USPS has been impressed with how the stamp and collectible items have sold over the last few days.  In the meantime, visit your post office, call 800–782–6724 or visit http://www.usps.com/stamps/richard-allen.htm to stock up.
