The Lord Will Direct Your Path

Posted on Sun, Feb 6, 2005

excerpts from the "back to school" sermon, Sep 2004.

The Lord Will Direct Your Path
Proverbs 3:  5, 6

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not onto thing own understandings.
In all thine ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path."

Today's service is dedicated to our young people who will be returning to school soon.  We all have a stake in the success of our students and we all need to exercise our responsibilities on a regular basis.

The Church Community needs to take an active role by providing genuine encouragement to our students on a regular basis.

Parents need to play the role of parents at all times.  Remember you are not your child's buddies or playmates.  You are the ones who will provide guidance and support at all times.  Therefore it is OK to say "NO" to your child when necessary.  Don't be afraid to be unpopular when they don't agree with your decisions.

Students need to take with them three commandments found in these verses.  They need to:

1.  Trust in the Lord
2.  Lean not on your own understanding
3.  Acknowledge the Lord always

When you obey these three commandments, The Lord will direct your path.  Always the The Lord lead the way.  Let Him take your hand.  Remember, He is closer than a brother.  Just whisper a little prayer, and He knows exactly what to do.

God Bless You!  Your year will be great!
