Women's Day Workshop 5/14/2005

On May 14, 2005, a workshop was held as a prelude to the annual Women's Day Services. The following is a summary of the activities:

Sis. Shenee Jackson was the Mistress of Ceremonies.

Sessions for the adult women were presented by the following:

Sis. Joyce Scruggs - Health and Nutrition
Sis. Joann Stingley - Social Work: Comforting Life's Challenges
Sis. Carolyn O'Neal - Living with Disabilities: Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
Rev. Karen Henry - Understanding Spiritual Women

Sessions for the young ladies were presented by:

Mrs. Betty Brown - Etiquette and How Young Women Should Present Themselves
Sis. Melissa Williams - Self Esteem for Young Women, Domestic Violence and Aids Awareness

The Theme of the workshop and of Women's Day was "Women Connected by Faith, Family and Friendship".  There was a wonderful turnout with approximately  70 ladies present.  The workshop ended by circling the sanctuary and singing "We Are Women Walking in Faith Together". Lunch was served immediately following the workshop.

It was so good to have the women and young ladies fellowshipping together. A blessed time was had by all.
