Opportunities Still Available to Participate in Summer Reading Club
ELGIN- Representative Munson’s 2nd Annual Summer Reading Club encourages fun and educational reading for children in the summer months. The program challenges children in first through sixth grades to read at least eight books on their own during the summer break. Participants can choose their own books and are asked to compile a list of the books they read before attending a recognition party.
“The Summer Reading Club is a fantastic program for families who want to ensure their children are practicing their reading skills this summer,” said Munson. “It is important that we give children the opportunity to explore favorite topics and hobbies through reading and this is the perfect way to get them involved in books.”
Summer Reading Club brochures can be picked up at the Gail Borden Library, 270 North Grove Ave., Elgin, IL; the Dundee Library, 555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee, IL; or from Rep. Munson’s office located at 1146 Dundee Avenue., Elgin. The brochure is also available for download at Rep. Munson’s website, www.ruthmunson.com. The deadline to complete the club is Sept. 1.
